A MESSAGE FROM NEW REALM BREWING CO. CONCERNING COVID-19
ATLANTA, GA & VIRGINIA BEACH, VA– March 20, 2020 – When we started this company, our primary goal was to create a family culture where people enjoyed work and wanted to end their careers with us. We envisioned a company that truly valued people and where individuals would be empowered and respected. We knew that there would be both good and challenging times, but we were confident that our team would always prevail.
Sadly, our world, industry, and community has been hit hard and it’s time for us to demonstrate our character. The strength of this company is in the people that make New Realm a special place and I am confident that together we will get through this. Our goal has been to act responsibly and in the best interest of our New Realm family members and our community.
To that end, we have decided on the following:
First, as previously announced, we have temporarily closed our taproom/restaurants in both Atlanta and Virginia Beach and have enacted to-go only food and beer service. Based on the government and medical community’s calls to practice social distancing and reducing all skin-to-skin contact, and out of an abundance of caution for our employees, our guests and the community at large, we feel that this is the right thing to do. This is a very difficult decision but we believe it is in the best interests of both New Realm and our communities. As of now, we are unsure of the timing of our re-openings, but we are committed to returning to normal business for our New Realm family and our customers. This will ensure the safety of our team while continuing to offer a service to our community.
Second, because we feel that our New Realm family is what makes New Realm a special place – we have decided, for now, that all hourly and salaried employees, including all managers, brewers, servers, cooks, bartenders, bussers, dishwashers, and administrative positions will remain employees of New Realm.
We will continue to evaluate the changing environment and will open our business as soon as possible. We look forward to this being behind us so we can all get back to work and life as we once knew it.
Lastly, we hope that the Atlanta and Virginia Beach communities will continue to order from our Beer and Food To Go menus to help support our employees.
Sincerely,
Carey Falcone
Co-Founder and CEO
